“ Our favorite place for Friday night fish fry in the area. Small, small dining room, so there is often a wait for a table, but the bar area provides ample seating for drinks and there's additional space outside in the summer for waiting. The all you can eat fish fry is great, and I love the combo option with the baby reds as a side. Normally, I'm a potato pancakes type of person, but my go to at the Nutty is always baby reds now when available. Cannot wait for the next fish fry here. Have yet to find somewhere in the Eagle River area that we like better! ”
“ Very comfortable with fair priced good meals to serve the north woods. The broasted chicken is very tasty! ”
“ Visited the Nutty Squirrel for the first time! Great food! But the highlight of our visit was the waitress Tammy! Fast and happy! You can clearly see she enjoys what she does and she made our time there a joy! I heartily recommend Tammy and the Nutty Squirrel! ”
“ Fabulous classic northern Wisconsin place. We started with an appetizer of delicious homemade fried pickles to go with our drinks - a local beer and the local cocktail: a brandy old-fashionedand a burger with a stuffed and fried jalapeño popper right on top, finished off with habanero raspberry sauce. Never had such a decadent crazy burger. It was delicious. And it didn't fall apart in the devouring. ”
“ Good chicken, burger and fish. The appetizers are always good. Pretty crowded in the summer. Worth the wait. ”
“ Delicious and fast friday fish fry! They open at 4:00. We got there right away and claimed a spot at the bar. There was a line out the door waiting for them to open and they got everyone seating quickly. Once the tables were full they took a list for seating tables, you could grab a drink at the bar or wait outside for your table. They had several tables and games (corn hole) outside for waiting. I had the bluegill and perch platter with potato pancakes and my husband had the haddock and French fries. The batter on the bluegill and perch was a light panko coating and the haddock was more like a traditional beer batter, but thin and crispy. The platters were all you can eat, but the servings were large enough that we didn't need extra fish. They all came with baked bean, cole slaw, rye bread, and a side. The bartender managed to get dozens of drinks out for table service with in the first 15 min of opening while still being able to serve the bar. Do him a favor, if you want an old fashioned please be ready with the entire order, don't just ask for an old fashioned. He worked his tail off and was significantly under tipped ($1 for 5 drinks). Be kind to your bartender people. I highly recommend this for a great Friday fish fry. It was super busy but they seemed to be able to keep up. Be patient! ”
“ Best place in town to get Squirrel balls! Only place too! Good food with a charming Northwoods ambiance. Try the fish fry, pretty darn tasty. Several craft beers on tap to choose from. This place packs em' in during tourist season. Still busy during the non- tourist season. Great atmosphere, cool staff & pretty tasty bar food. Be sure to tip your wait staff! ”
